Pressure
SIZE: 200 cm X 110 cm X 50 cm
MEDIUM: Paper, Cardboard String, Acrylic Paint, Satin Fabric
Overview: This project explores the influence of external pressure on individual behavior, using material and form to represent how societal expectations can shape decision-making.
Concept & Approach: The garment is constructed from paper, a fragile and easily manipulated material, to reflect the vulnerability of individuals within controlled environments. The structured form and exposed construction emphasize tension between control and identity, while the puppet-box setting reinforces the idea of external forces guiding behavior.
Insight: This work examines how environments and social systems can subtly dictate actions, highlighting the tension between autonomy and influence. It reflects an early exploration of how design can be used to communicate complex systems and human behavior, an approach I continue to apply in more strategic and analytical contexts.

Display Creation; decided to change the material from wood to cardboard as it was difficult to cut, given the limited resources provided by my institution
Final Display and Piece. In the future I would go with my original plan of including ropes and plastic arms/legs in the piece as I believe it provided more reference to a puppet. Since I was unable to find the pieces and had limited time to create them from scratch, I was unable to develop my initial plan.
